Every May, artists around the world join the Mermay Challenge, a month-long event where the goal is to create mermaid-themed illustrations. I’ve participated in several editions over the years, and it’s always such an inspiring experience.What I love most is seeing how differently artists interpret the same theme; from magical and ethereal to fun and unexpected. It’s a great reminder of how endless creativity can be. For me, it’s also a fun personal challenge: how can I reimagine the mermaid each time? What story, feeling, or twist can I bring to it?It’s one of those creative traditions I look forward to every year.
